Topic: Is the Wise Owl Wise?

Read up facts on
the Internet about Owls.
You may use the links provided:

Work in your
groups of 6 assigned by your teacher.
· Use the information you have found to complete a table
of facts on Owls.
· Every group will be given a link to access their
table. Your
group’s link can be found in your class’s Edmodo
account.
· Each pupil is to fill up one of the headings.
· For example, Pupil 1 (Habitat), Pupil 2 (Movement),
Pupil 3
(Body Covering), Pupil 4 (Diet), Pupil 5 (Physical Features) and
Pupil 6 (Special Traits).
You may use the following guiding questions to help you fill in the table:
1.
Habitat - Where do owls live?
2.
Movement - How do owls move from one place to another?
3.
Body Covering- What is the body covering of owls?
4.
Diet- What do
owls feed on?
5.
Physical Features- E.g. eyes, face etc.
6.
Special Traits- E.g. nocturnal animal
Steps to access your group’s table:
1)
Go to your
Edmodo account.
2)
Click on your
group’s link given by your teacher. You will automatically be directed to the Microsoft Word file
(Google docs).
3) Choose any of the heading (which has not been filled in yet) and type in the facts you have found.
4)
It will be
automatically saved once you close your file.

3) Using Microsoft PowerPoint, create a picture using different shapes (not less than 5) that you have learnt.

Part 1
1) Click on the e-book ‘Shape Search’ below and read the story.
1) Click on the e-book ‘Shape Search’ below and read the story.
2) Click on the PowerPoint slides below to learn more about Shapes.
3) Using Microsoft PowerPoint, create a picture using different shapes (not less than 5) that you have learnt.
For example:
4) Save your work on your desktop or thumb drive.
5) Upload your PowerPoint slide on to your class's Edmodo wall. (Remember to check that you have sent the PowerPoint file to everyone in your class.)
Steps to upload your PowerPoint slide in Edmodo:
1) Click on the icon ‘File’
2) Browse for the PowerPoint file that you have saved on your desktop or thumbdrive.
3) Double click on your PowerPoint file to upload it to Edmodo.
4) Type ‘My picture using shapes by (your name)’ in the note box.
5) Then, click on the ‘Send’ button.
6) You should see what you have uploaded on the class wall.
Part 2
1) Login to your Edmodo account.
2) Choose one picture created by your friend.
3) Click on the chosen picture and study it carefully.
4) Click on the ‘reply’ button below the picture you have chosen.
5) Type the number and the type of shapes used in your friend’s picture.
For example:
I can see 2 triangles, 6 rectangles, 6 squares and 11 ovals.
6) Comment on your friend’s pictures.
For example:
I like your picture because …… J
**For those pupils who do not have the PowerPoint software at home, you can download a trial version.
